Yiannas, a former FDA executive, joins the iFoodDS board
Seattle The US Food and Drug Administration’s deputy commissioner for food policy and response from December 2018 to February 2023, Frank M. Yiannas, has been appointed to the board of directors of iFoodDS, a company that offers connected traceability, quality, and food safety solutions for the food supply chain.
Implementing the Food Safety Modernization Act, working with the Centre for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, the Centre for Veterinary Medicine, and the food division of the Office of Regulatory Affairs were among Mr. Yiannas’s duties during his tenure at the FDA.
Mr. Yiannas spent over 11 years as Walmart, Inc.’s vice president of food safety and health before to joining the FDA. He had previously spent 19 years as the director of safety and health at The Walt Disney World Co. In addition, he authored “Food Safety=Behavior: 30 Proven Techniques to Enhance Employee Compliance” and served as an adjunct professor in the Food Safety Programme at Michigan State University.
