Thew Arnott of the UK develops a lecithin blending facility in Illinois

United Kingdom / Wallington — Thew Arnott, a company that provides industrial, feed, and culinary services worldwide, has established a lecithin mixing facility in Monticello, Illinois. Standard, non-GMO, and non-allergen versions of the emulsifier will be processed at the new facility.

Richard Newman, managing director of Thew Arnott, stated, “This is another milestone in our more than 150-year family business, and a logical next step building on the significant investments of the past 20 years since we began representing Lucas Meyer, The Lecithin People, following the closure of their UK lecithin processing facility.” In order to provide a new location for the skilled workers, we established a cutting-edge lecithin systems plant in Wales in 2007. We then proceeded to produce customized confectionary coating systems.

Thew Arnott purchased a 15-acre property in Monticello with space for growth and rail access in 2019. The company stated that the goal was to create a Food Ingredient Center of Excellence.

The site was completely operational in nine months, and the first products were shipped out of the plant in the fall of 2020, according to sales director Gerry Stuart-Brown. We consider this to be a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering the exceptional circumstances and obstacles brought about by COVID-19. The crew has expanded as well as continued to make changes and improvements. both Atlantic sides.”
