Sustainability activities are pursued by SeedWise and Ozery Family Bakery.
By 2030, Ozery Family Bakery, which creates healthier bread substitutes, and SeedWise, a company that manufactures snacks made with seeds, plan to achieve carbon neutrality.
In 2023, the businesses started purchasing carbon offsets to support the voluntary emission reduction initiative of AIM Environmental Group in order to offset their natural gas use. By treating organic waste aerobically, the program prevents landfills from releasing methane gas, which is a byproduct of conventional waste disposal techniques. By being among the first companies to buy Clean Energy Certificates (CECs) under Ontario’s Clean Energy Credit (CEC) Program, both businesses have also reduced their reliance on fossil fuels for energy generation.
In order to prevent excess food from ending up in landfills and instead supplying it to people in need, the corporations have teamed up with Second Harvest, the biggest food rescue organization in Canada. Thus far, 178,256 pounds of merchandise have been contributed by SeedWise and Ozery Family Bakery.

The businesses SeedWise and Ozery Family Bakery stated that their dedication to sustainability is not just environmentally friendly but also a sound commercial decision. According to Laura Morgan, director of marketing at SeedWise, demand for eco-friendly products is rising as people look for them more and more.
