According to Mintel’s Global New Product Database, the number of new food and beverage releases in the US that make the keto claim has nearly doubled in the last 12 months. Between June 2019 and May 2020, the percentage of food and drink launches that were keto items was 1.2%; however, between June 2020 and May 2021, it increased to 2.3%.

Chocolate Mousse Pie and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Dough are two new Think! Keto Protein Bars from Think!, a subsidiary of Glanbia PLC, that are aimed at extending the brand’s reach in the keto space. The gluten-free, keto-certified bars have 2 to 3 grams of net carbohydrates and 10 grams of milk and whey protein, sweetened with erythritol.

With a crust composed of turnips, almond flour, cage-free eggs, mozzarella cheese, flaxseed, and coconut flour, Cappello’s has developed new certified keto pizzas. A new brand of plant-based cheese wedges that come individually wrapped and are certified keto by Good Planet Foods. The original, pepper jack, and smoked gouda types of the vegan, Non-GMO Project approved wedges are manufactured with coconut oil and chickpea protein. Six grams of fat and 60–70 calories are found in each wedge.
