Roland Foods purchases a supplier of fine foods and ingredients.
Vestar Capital Partners’ portfolio firm Roland Foods, LLC has purchased ifiGOURMET, an importer and distributor of goods for the ice cream, pastry, baking, and confectionery industries situated in Gurnee, Illinois. The transaction’s financial details were kept a secret.
ifiGOURMET operates two distribution hubs in Chicago and San Francisco from which it supplies more than 1,500 in-store bakeries, restaurant chains, and foodservice establishments nationwide.
As part of the deal, Roland Foods’ sweets division, AUI Fine Foods, will merge with ifiGOURMET. Owner and CEO of ifiGOURMET Rick Brownstein will continue to lead the united business.
“This strategic acquisition will expand our offering of sweet products and strengthen AUI Fine Foods’ footprint in the important Chicago and San Francisco markets, enabling us to better serve both new and existing customers nationwide,” stated Keith Dougherty, CEO of Roland Foods. “We think that the market for gourmet foods and ingredients is full of opportunities, and Roland Foods will be better positioned for growth with the addition of the ifiGOURMET team.”
Mr. Brownstein went on, “ifiGOURMET will have the connections and resources necessary to grow our business by joining AUI Fine Foods and the Roland Foods family.” We are enthusiastic about the future and are pleased that Roland Foods and AUI share our culture and strong dedication to customer care.
