The peanut butter and jelly flavor is making a comeback and can be found in a lot of different forms, such nutrition bars and coffee creamers.

In its 2023 Trend Report Bite, McCormick Flavor Solutions discovered that a popular comfort flavor in recent inventions was the basic childhood flavor combination.

The survey states that “consumer yearning for emotional connections to childhood memories and meals reignites the comeback of comforting meals.” “A creative interpretation of classics with a mature spin and a dash of fun” is the ideal combo.

The oat bar business Bobo’s has introduced PB&Js as a new snack item to its assortment. The snack has a peanut butter oat crust with a strawberry jam or grape filling, and it’s the company’s version of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The PB&Js are made with 17 grams of whole grain oats and are kosher, gluten-free, and soy-free.

Beryl Stafford, the creator of Bobo’s, said, “People love being reminded of their youth, and for many, the peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a cherished childhood staple.” We’ve updated the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich by creating a shelf-stable version that’s portable and requires no preparation. It’s a nostalgic journey that keeps up with the hectic lives of today.

The traditional childhood game has several uses outside of shelf-stable versions. Coffee Mate debuted peanut butter and jelly as a limited-edition offering for their Duo creamer line over in the refrigerated department. The coffee creamer has a strawberry jelly and salty peanut butter flavor.
