Pizza Hut and Beyond Meat collaborate to create innovative plant-based pepperoni
Pizza Hut and Beyond Meat, Inc. have teamed up once more to introduce Beyond Pepperoni, a plant-based take on the well-known pizza topping that is a first for both companies.
The culinary experts at Beyond Meat and Pizza Hut collaborated to create Beyond Pepperoni, a plant-based dish comprised of rice and peas that is free of cholesterol, hormones, antibiotics, soy, and GMOs. As per Beyond Meat, the pepperoni imparts a mild spiciness.
“Pizza Hut’s new Beyond Pepperoni Pizza delivers the same iconic taste that fans know and love,” stated Yum! Brands, Inc. subsidiary Pizza Hut’s chief brand officer, Georgeanne Erickson. “With this new plant-based option, we’re giving customers more choices and more reasons to love Pizza Hut.”
You have the option of serving the Beyond Pepperoni on either the original pan or the traditional stuffed crust.
Chief innovation officer of Beyond Meat Dariush Ajami said, “We know there is strong consumer demand for pepperoni, and we’re thrilled to unveil a game-changing plant-based pepperoni topping as the next chapter in our innovation-focused partnership with Pizza Hut.” “We’re sure that customers will adore Beyond Pepperoni because it has the savory flavor profile and crispy edges of Pizza Hut’s classic pepperoni with the added benefits of plant-based meat.”
