OFI’s chief sustainability officer assumes leadership
LONDON: Chief sustainability officer at OFI, an Olam Group company, is Roel van Poppel, co-founder of Tract, a digital platform for measuring sustainability. With operations in over 50 countries, he will be in charge of ensuring that OFI can favorably affect its five key product platforms: dairy, cocoa, coffee, nuts, and spices.
Van Poppel remarked, “It’s an honor to lead the OFI sustainability team with its breadth of knowledge and unwavering dedication.” “My goal is to expand the reach of OFI’s initiatives even more, working locally with suppliers and customers to create a beneficial impact. For OFI and our partners, together, we will spark larger prospects and game-changing outcomes.
Before joining Olam Group in 2013 as the worldwide commercial lead for its spices business, Van Poppel held executive positions at Cargill and Wild Flavors. After that, he moved internally to take the helm of AtSource’s sustainability insights management system.
