Nutpods are acquired by the Kroger Venture Capital Partnership.

The venture capital arm of The Kroger Co., PearlRock Partners, and the private equity firm MidOcean Partners have partnered to buy Nutpods. The acquisition’s terms were not disclosed.

Madeleine Haydon established Nutpods, a plant-based creamer manufacturer and marketer, in 2013. According to the firm, there are currently 15,000 retail locations across the country carrying the brand.

Brian Kelley, CEO of MPearlRock, stated, “Nutpods is a remarkable entrepreneurial success story that exemplifies the businesses and management teams with whom we seek to partner.” “Over the past few years, we have been following Nutpods, and we have been impressed by Madeline’s vision, her disciplined approach, and the way she developed and marketed a truly superior product to build strong customer loyalty.”

VMG Partners made a strategic investment in Nutpods in 2019, and throughout the four years of the relationship, the company more than tripled its net sales, according to the company.
