Margarine line opened by CSM at Italian factory
The city of Luxembourg, Luxembourg — Recently, CSM Ingredients built a new margarine production line at its Crema, Italy, headquarters. The plant’s 100th anniversary was being celebrated at the same time as the line’s opening.

The new margarine production line, which increases the facility’s capacity to more than 70,000 tons annually, was reportedly invested in by CSM for €2 million ($2.14 million).
The three production divisions comprise the 350,900-square-foot Crema plant. According to CSM, the NDC (non-dairy creams) section produces up to 16,000 tons of creams annually. The center of the facility’s operations, the second department is devoted to fats and oils and produces blends and margarines. The third division specializes in frozen bakery goods, with a primary concentration on croissants, savory nibbles, and small pizzas.
The Crema factory has an application center where the business holds tests, training programs, webinars, and presentations in addition to the production area. The product development center is devoted to the research and development of new recipes and products.
