Made “safe to eat raw,” Pillsbury produces cookie and brownie dough.

MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills, Inc.’s Pillsbury refrigerated cookie and brownie dough, which uses heat-treated flour and pasteurised eggs, has completely made the switch to “safe to eat raw.”

Products from Pillsbury that satisfy the criteria have a new “safe to eat raw” seal. More than fifty items, including several variants from the company’s Pillsbury Ready to Bake!, Pillsbury Place & Bake, and Pillsbury Shape lines, bear the seal, according to General Mills.

According to General Mills, the modified products have the same flavour as the originals.

In celebration of the announcement, Pillsbury is teaming up with actress and mother-of-two Haylie Duff to urge parents to take part in the #SayYesChallenge and have fun surprising their kids.

Parents are asked to video their children’s reactions when they are eventually told “yes” to eating raw cookie or brownie batter as part of the #SayYesChallenge. In order to have their videos featured on Pillsbury’s Facebook and Instagram, parents can post them on social media by tagging @Pillsbury and using the hashtag #SayYesChallenge. The challenge is open until August 16th.

According to Tiffany Seelen, senior manager of brand experience at Pillsbury, “these times have been difficult for families who have had to say ‘no’ to usual summer activities and cancel kids’ plans for summer camps.” “We’re I’m happy to add some sweetness to the easy and entertaining Pillsbury goods, which can now be eaten raw or baked. Now, as a spontaneous treat, families can indulge in the mischievous pleasure of snatching delicious nibbles of raw cookie or brownie dough.
