John Soules begins construction of an expanded facility in Alabama.
VALLEY, ALA. — The corporation said that work has started on the new John Soules Foods facility in Valley, Alabama. The coronavirus caused multiple delays in the start of construction (COVID-19). More than 500 workers will be hired as a result of the $151 million project, which will be divided into three phases.
Adam White has also been appointed the new location’s maintenance manager. To manage the project’s logistics, he has been collaborating with the Chambers County Development Authority (CCDA) and the city of Valley.
“We are happy to have Adam join the team,” John Soules Foods Chief Operating Officer Tom Ellis stated. “Adam will be leading our Valley, Alabama, operations for years to come with his valuable experience and proven ability.”
210 full-time employment and a $90 million investment are part of phase one of the project. This investment will go towards adding two cook lines, building more structures, treating wastewater, and renovating the current facility.
With a $39 million investment, phase two will include two more cook lines and 200 more full-time staff members.
The last stage will involve adding another cook line, investing $22 million, and hiring 100 new staff members. Following completed, the plant will have the capacity to generate around 200 million pounds of fully cooked beef and chicken products every year, according to the company.
The plant should be operational by the summer of 2021, with construction anticipated to take 13 months.
Based in West Point, Georgia For the project’s initial phase, Batson-Cook Construction was given the contract.
