IFF selects a new CEO.

J. Erik Fyrwald has been appointed as the new CEO of IFF. Frank Clyburn is succeeded by Fyrwald. For two years, Clyburn led the corporation as CEO.

Fyrwald comes to IFF from Syngenta Group, where he spent seven years as the executive director and CEO. He was previously president of Ecolab and CEO of Univar. He has served in a number of executive capacities at DuPont and Nalco.

The University of Delaware awarded him a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

“We are thrilled to have Erik join IFF’s board and leadership group,” IFF Board Chair Roger W. Ferguson Jr. stated. “As we seize the enormous value creation opportunities that lie ahead of us, Erik’s outstanding track record, passion for successful execution, customer-centric approach, and highly complementary industry knowledge will be helpful. The board is certain that Erik is the best CEO to lead IFF into its next phase as we carry out our strategic plan, putting a priority on fostering sustainable, profitable growth.

Clyburn was most recently executive vice president and president of human health at Merck before to joining IFF.He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a bachelor’s degree in arts and from Arizona State University with a master’s degree in business administration.

The corporation announced the appointment of a new CEO and restated its “Full Year 2023 Guidance and Strategic Plan.” According to the company, its full-year 2023 revenues are expected to fall between its previously given projection range of $11.3 billion and $11.6 billion. Additionally, it indicated that it still expects adjusted operating EBITDA for the entire year 2023 to be between the middle and upper end of its previously given forecast range of $1.85 billion to $2 billion.IFF stated that it anticipates the $810 million sale of its Cosmetic Ingredients business unit to completion in the first quarter of 2024.
