Heartisan Foods will purchase a cheese manufacturer.

Heartisan claimed that by acquiring North Country Packaging, which is based in Barron County, Wisconsin, it will strengthen the Cheese Brothers online brand, increase its capacity for fulfillment, and improve its standing to introduce new cheese snack products in markets like cheese spreads and cheese curds.

Kendall Goossen, co-founder of North Country, will join Heartisan as a senior executive and will keep stock in the combined company together with Maria Goossen.

Heartisan CEO Gene Graf stated, “We have known the Goossens and their colleagues at North Country for years and we share the exact same vision.” The timing of the additional capacity is ideal, as we are now operating our production facilities at maximum capacity. Now that Heartisan’s customers can choose from 32 distinct North Country cheese spreads and cheese curds, they may have a new flavor every day of the month.

Heartisan claimed that among the novelties produced by North Country are spreads made with habanero ghost pepper and tomato and sweet basil.

According to Goossen, “this deal is the perfect way to expand cutting-edge products, accelerate growth, and speed up innovation at both companies.”

Heartisan supplies over 12,000 retail locations nationwide with its flavored and smoked cheeses, which are also sold online.

Tiffany Bell, a Ronin partner and board member of Heartisan, said, “Expanding capacity and driving innovation in new flavors and product categories shows our retail and consumer partners how committed we are to supporting their needs and driving growth.” “We will have more control over the supply chain, fulfillment, and quality thanks to the increased capacity, which will also improve our margins.”
