General Mills plans to update its Tennessee facility.

Franklin, Tennessee In order to improve technology and machinery at its Yoplait yoghurt and Pillsbury refrigerated and frozen dough products plant in Murfreesboro, General Mills, Inc. has stated that it will invest $65 million.

Dave Tincher, plant manager of the Murfreesboro facility, stated, “We are proud to make beloved brands like Yoplait and Pillsbury for consumers across the US right here in Rutherford County.” “Middle Tennessee, and especially Rutherford County, is still working with employers to implement initiatives that help current businesses and draw in new ones to spur economic development in the area. Our Murfreesboro facility will be able to compete in the market thanks to this investment.

According to General Mills, the $65 million investment would be used to upgrade equipment and technologies. According to the corporation, the investment would also enable the factory to run more efficiently in order to satisfy rising customer demand.

“We are happy that they decided to reinvest in Murfreesboro, as we have production facilities all over the world,” stated Bill Jones, chairman of Destination Rutherford. “The pledge by General Mills will guarantee the retention of 1,000 well-paying employment and the associated tax revenue in our community.”
