Ferraro Foods will increase its Napoli location.
Ferraro Foods, one of the biggest specialized food and foodservice distributors in the US to pizzerias and Italian eateries, is going to greatly enlarge its Napoli location in Cheshire, Connecticut.
Ferraro said that the distribution center, located at 10 Knotter Drive in Cheshire, which is conveniently positioned halfway between Boston and New York City, will get a 45,000-square-foot multi-temp addition. The building was initially built in 2008 and is home to Napoli, a specialty brand of imported Italian foods that Ferraro purchased in 2019. According to Ferraro, the expansion will increase the facility’s storage capacity by 70%, enabling Ferraro to double Napoli’s current sales volume and further expand its market share in the Northeast for pizza. The estimated cost of the enlargement is $10 million.
Michael Cipriano, corporate vice president of sales and revenue operations at Ferraro Foods, stated, “This expansion will represent a significant investment in one of our key facilities supporting Ferraro’s operations in the ‘pizza power states’ of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, which are so important in our business.” “From a revenue and operations standpoint, this will be a significant advancement for Ferraro.”

In the last three months, Ferraro has launched three significant growth initiatives. Ferraro announced earlier this year that it would expand its Long Island operations and replace its existing distribution center in Melville, New York, with a 230,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Edgewood, New York. Shortly afterward, Ferraro purchased GDS Foods Inc., an Italian food distributor with around $50 million in annual revenue, located in New Jersey.
