Dole Unveils Master Slawesome! Kit
Charlotte, North Carolina Dole Food Company, Inc. has added more Slawesome to its menu! The Dole Hawaiian Slawesome Kits! Kit. Together with shredded carrots and green and red cabbage, Dole’s Grilled Pineapple Dressing, which is produced with Dole Tropical Gold Pineapples, and tropical spice are included in the new offering.
According to Bil Goldfield, director of corporate relations at Dole, “Dole introduced Slawesome! in 2018 as the industry’s first line of seasoned coleslaw kits in response to simultaneous consumer demand for cabbage, coleslaw and Dole’s salad kits.” The product line is still popular with a broad range of consumers, including flexitarians, plant-based diet converts, vegetarians, and meat eaters looking for a topping for fish, chicken, cattle, or hog.
The company is celebrating over a century of farming pineapples in Hawaii, both at the Dole Plantation and other locations, by releasing this new kit. The Hawaiian slaw’s open-design bag provides suggestions for flavor-matched toppings and pairings, as well as a link to Dole’s recipe library including Dole Slawesome! Kits as components.
“We’re using our special and historical pineapple experience to grow the coleslaw kit category with the Dole Hawaiian Slawesome! Kit. Its only-from-Dole taste sensation goes well with pulled chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, and turkey burgers, and it’s the ideal topping for a variety of soups and stews,” Mr. Goldfield stated.
The new kit has a suggested retail price of $2.99 and serves three to four people.
