CSM increases its expenditures on fats and oils
CSM Ingredients is making investments in fats and oils research and innovation, including looking for fresh approaches to support sustainability and the nutritional advantages for human health.
According to the corporation, while considering process innovation in the manufacturing of fats and oils, it looks at three things: sustainability, nutrition, and usefulness. Process innovation projects that CSM is investigating include healthier alternatives to saturated fats and microbial oils and enzyme technology as plant-based oil substitutes.
Additionally, CSM announced the opening of an innovation centre for fats, oils, and emulsifiers in Delmenhorst, Germany. According to CSM, the facility’s main goals will be to create cutting-edge solutions for plant-based and sustainable food technologies and to bring in top professionals to work with the company. These experts may include specialised researchers and cutting-edge startups in the food tech space.
“At CSM Ingredients, we strive to be at the forefront of the evolution of food ingredients by working tirelessly to identify new and existing opportunities based on growing and emerging trends through open innovation,” stated CSM CEO Aldo Uva. “Thus, our heightened endeavours in the fats and oils domain constitute a crucial facet for enhancing our research and innovation proficiency, with the objective of producing end items that exhibit superior flavour and calibre. We think that the recently constructed Innovation Centre in Delmenhorst will function as a hub for creating novel food ingredient solutions that will both enhance human nutrition and have a beneficial, long-term effect on the environment.
