Closed a $12 million Series A round for SkinnyDipped

Seattle — A number of well-known figures in sports and entertainment have contributed $12 million to the Series A funding round for snack manufacturer SkinnyDipped.

Founded by Val and Breezy Griffith, a mother-daughter team, SkinnyDipped sells low-sugar chocolate confections and a variety of lightly coated cashews, almonds, and peanuts that are available in more than 25,000 stores across the country, including Target, Walmart, and Kroger. The money will be used to support new product development and keep up retail expansion, which will include new rollouts in Costco and Publix.

Chief Executive Officer Breezy Griffith stated, “Our journey to this milestone has been challenging, energizing, and full of passion from all involved.” “But the true gift—and the reason I’m so happy and proud of myself—has been realizing how much support SkinnyDipped has from the investor community, industry, and customers. I’m in awe of our diverse and eclectic portfolio of investors, which includes both A-list celebrities and extreme athletes. Everyone is so incredibly passionate about the brand.

“What Breezy, Val, and the SkinnyDipped team have accomplished truly amazes me,” Mr. Grutman, a restaurant and nightclub owner and partner, remarked. “What they’ve produced is incredible.” First of all, they make the best snacks ever, and they never cease to amaze me in every aspect of their business. Leading this round excites me, but what excites me even more is what I’m going to do with these investors.
