Chilau Foods begins a campaign on Kickstarter
Chilau Foods, a maker of boil and stew bases with a Southern flair, has launched a crowdfunding campaign. As the company moves into retail in the US, more than 100 individual investors have contributed to the round, according to the company.
According to the company, Chilau Foods is making progress toward the $1 million target required for growth. The money will be used to boost distribution, filling, and packing operations. Additionally, according to Chilau Foods, the money will support trade expenditures made by the business as it ramps up marketing and promotion to encourage product trials and boost off-the-shelf sales. By the end of 2024, the company hopes to expand into eight more stores.
Michael Anderson, the founder of Chilau Foods, said, “I am thrilled to give our early backers the opportunity to own a piece of the brand and grow with us. The Chilau brand was developed by listening to our customers.” “This community round of funding will play a crucial role in expanding our presence and meeting growing demand as Chilau Foods continues its rapid growth into retail.”
Since its January 2023 founding, the company has expanded into over 370 locations, including Plum Market, Winn-Dixie, Market Street, Albertsons, United Supermarkets, and Harveys Supermarkets. The company specializes in unconventional flavors like creole trinity and low-country citrus.

Additionally, the business collaborates with Consumer Convenience Technologies. Chilau will use the business’s EEASY Lid on all of its goods as a result of the relationship. The company claimed that by allowing customers to vent a vacuum-sealed jar by pushing a button on the top, they may help brands make their jarred food goods more accessible. This process also lowers the torque required to twist off the lid by up to 50%.
