Bimbo innovation platform to feature bars and cookies
MEXICO CITY Bimbo Open Door, Grupo Bimbo SAB de CV’s open innovation platform for food enterprises, has released its second edition. Grupo Bimbo said that it will highlight entrepreneurs in the cookie and bar categories that have shown creative ideas in their respective industries as part of the program’s second edition.

Bimbo claimed that Bimbo Open Door was created to reach over 20 Latin American nations, including Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile. Bimbo Ventures, a Grupo Bimbo business unit devoted to identifying solutions in global innovation ecosystems through distinctive and distinctive goods, is the vehicle through which the programme is run.
Companies who wish to participate in Bimbo Open Door must have a product that Bimbo has validated and operations or an expansion strategy in the Americas, spanning from Canada to Argentina and/or the European continent. Businesses must also be available to participate in the programme in Mexico for 12 weeks and have yearly sales of at least $250,000.
Furthermore, Bimbo stated that candidates have to be in line with the business’s sustainability plan. Bimbo stated that its selection process will primarily consider three factors: a nature-friendly business model, simple and/or plant-based formulations, and nutritional diversity.
Interested businesses can apply in three areas, according to Bimbo:
Children’s cookies and/or bars: “Delicious and nourishing products made with cutting-edge materials and technologies for the youngest members of the family.”
Snacks with a twist: “Bars and/or cookies made with natural and unusual ingredients, taking into account cutting-edge techniques that help preserve their flavours.”
Handcrafted goods and/or conventional recipes: “Cookies and/or bars with a distinctive touch that employ innovative cooking methods and eye-catching presentation ideas to preserve the homemade essence and comforting flavour.” in each and every bite.

Businesses that the company chooses as finalists will get the chance to work on their projects and get to know the company’s bakeries and innovation centres while receiving mentorship from Bimbo executives and managers. As part of “Demo Day,” the program’s last phase, finalists will showcase their work to a group of business executives. Bimbo said. The program’s last round, “Behind the Door,” is where the finalists advance. Here, Bimbo will evaluate each of their concepts and determine whether a collaboration is feasible.
