Applications for SNAC Tank are invited from SNAC International.
The third SNAC Tank Pitch Competition is being held by SNAC International. Daymond John, the star of ABC’s reality series “Shark Tank” and the inventor of FUBU, is a guest judge for the competition.
A two-minute video pitch detailing the product, brand, and sample products must be submitted by the participants. Startup snack businesses can enter the competition to earn a $10,000 reward. In addition, the winner will gain awareness and exposure in industry media, as well as relationships with mentors in the field.
“The snacking sector is one of the most competitive — and most innovative — arenas in business,” said Elizabeth Avery, president and chief executive officer, SNAC International. “Our SNAC Tank competition is designed to highlight and reward the most innovative products being developed by the savviest entrepreneurs and the most creative companies in the consumer packaged goods marketplace today.”
Mr. Oza’s investment firm has partnered with brands like Hippeas, Popchips, One Bar and Skinny Dipped. As a “Shark Tank” judge, Mr. Oza also invested in current SNAC International member Jackson’s Chips.
In addition to the $10,000 grand prize, the winning company will gain exposure to executives at national and global food companies, as well as promotional activity in print, digital and social media provided by SNAC International.
Applications for SNAC Tank are being accepted through Feb. 4 at snxevent.com/apply-for-snac-tank-2. Applicants must complete an application form and submit a two-minute video pitch. Five finalists and five semi-finalists will be selected by Feb. 28. The finalists will be invited to pitch their brands to an expert panel of food industry judges, and all 10 brands will be invited to feature their products at the SNAC Tank Showcase. Following live pitches on March 29, a winner will be chosen by the judges and audience member votes.Five semi-finalists will receive invitations to SNX to take part in the SNAC Tank Showcase, where they will exhibit their goods and give attendees samples.

Submissions must be made by February 16th. On February 28, the five finalists will be informed. They will then have a three-minute Q&A period after showcasing their items to the judges.The competition will take place from April 14–16 in Dallas at SNX, SNAC International’s biennial education and partnership gathering.
