A pet food company raises $1 million in capital
Leap Venture Studio led the $1 million seed investment round that pet care firm Bundle x Joy completed. a startup accelerator established by Mars Petcare and the Michelson Found Animals Foundation.
The firm, created by a woman, was chosen to be a member of the seventh cohort of Leap Venture’s accelerator program. Leap Venture claimed that by funding Bundle x Joy, it is advancing its goal of assisting pet companies who are dedicated to revolutionizing the market.
“We are excited to have Bundle x Joy join the Leap Venture Studio,” Mars Petcare’s director of ventures Rachel Sheppard stated. “With every purchase, Bundle x Joy supports women entrepreneurs while delivering pet parents with premium nutrition products that have a double-edged effect.”
Superfood-infused, purpose-driven, customized pet nutrition products are available from Bundle x Joy. Products from the business include functional ingredient-infused supplements, snacks created with a superfood blend of sweet potatoes, chia seeds, blueberries, and cranberries, and complete-and-balanced diets made with real meat, plant-based superfoods, and probiotics. Pet nutritionists collaborate with the company to formulate their products.
The creator and CEO of Bundle x Joy, Jess Berger, stated, “We believe that the pet industry is hungry for the next generation of pet companies, brands, and products leading with purpose first.” “As a company founded by women, we take great pride in standing in for the next wave of pet businesses that are creating a varied and welcoming community that reflects today’s actual pet owners. We are eager to begin the next phase of growth for Bundle x Joy and are thrilled about the prospects that our partnership with Leap Venture Studio will bring to bear.
Bundle x Joy is currently the first Latina-owned pet brand in the United States to secure $1 million in funding, according to Ms. Berger.
“I am deeply conscious of my duty as a Latina founder to pave the way for other underrepresented founders in the pet industry,” Ms. Berger remarked. “I had the desire to start my own pet business for ten years, but I found it difficult to relate to any of the industry’s founders who resembled me. We are collaborating directly with other pet firms and creators, setting up a community of like-minded pet owners and goods, and chasing happiness with our dogs, unlike our competitors.
The pet brand was first only available online, but eight months after its official e-commerce launch, it secured major in-store distribution deals with over 450 retail establishments, including Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, and other specialty shops.

The founders of Bundle x Joy, Jess, and the brand’s mission are what we support, according to Alexandra and Joe Cloyes of Cloyes Ventures. “We support their mission to provide high-quality products and spread happiness. We are enthusiastic about the company’s future.
